Teacher’s aid cuts native boys hair

I have long hair; it represents respect for women, and other things, that is my identity as a native man.
The teacher’s aid took that away from this boy;
I thought residential school behaviour to teach native children how to be like the European was behind us. Obviously, some forgot to tell this person it was not appropriate to do this anymore.
Now how does a person have the right to take someone’s identity away like that? And to make things more insulting, no charges will be bought?
Here is a thought, if the boy had been Jewish, whom I have seen with braids on the sides of their head or Sikh, with their long hair under their turbans, what if someone would cut those, all hell would have broken loose. Some would have mention racial discrimination, or charges under Canada’s racial laws.
The boy only wanted to grow his hair for a traditional native dancing;
I guess we still have a long way to go.

"If the white man wants to live in peace with the Indian, he can live in peace.....Treat all men alike. Give them all the same law. Give them all an even chance to live and grow. All men were made by the same Great Spirit Chief. They are all brothers. The Earth is the mother of all people, and all people should have equal rights upon it.......Let me be a free man, free to travel, free to stop, free to work, free to trade....where I choose my own teachers, free to follow the religion of my fathers, free to think and talk and act for myself, and I will obey every law, or submit to the penalty."
